Legend LF1344 AVDS-1790 Engine & Compartment set II (for Dragon M48/M60 Series)

Continental AVDS-1790 is an American combustion engine from the Cold War and modern times. The weight of the "dry" engine is 2,132 kilograms, and the maximum power reaches 750 hp at 2,400 rpm. The engine is V-shaped, has 12 cylinders and is air-cooled. It has a turbocharger. The AVDS-1790 engine was developed by Continental based on the AV-1790 gasoline engine of the same manufacturer. Incidentally, the latter engine served as a power unit for the early versions of the M48 Patton, the M103, and the M53 / M55 SPGs. The main change between the two engines (AVDS-1790 and AV-1790) was of course the use of a different type of fuel, but also a significant increase in the weight of the AVDS-1790 engine. It is worth adding that the presented engine turned out to be a very successful engine and was used in several armored vehicles, such as the later versions of the M48 Patton, M60 or the Swedish Stridsvagn 104, the Swedish version of the British Centurion.
