S-70 is a 130 mm tank gun from the post-war period of Soviet production. The gun was to be the main armament of the IS-7 heavy tank or the Object 260, which, however, never entered mass production, although in the late 1940s it successfully passed all field tests. The presented gun was a distant development of the B-13 sea cannon of the same caliber, which had been mounted on Soviet destroyers since 1935. The S-70 cannon fired separate-loading missiles, which had a negative effect on its rate of fire and limited the ammunition supply in the vehicle. It also required placing two loaders in the tank's turret. On the other hand, the cannon fired projectiles with a total mass (cartridge and propellant) of about 60 kilograms and a powerful - as at the turn of the 1940s and 1950s - firepower. It is assumed that the average initial velocity of a shell fired from this gun was 900 m / s, and the gun would probably be able to destroy any western tank of that time with one shot.
